This position will be focused on designing and executing the Accertify curriculum and training strategy for the Accertify business unit within Global Merchant Services (GMS) division of American Express (AXP) with emphasis on Sales, Account Management, Sales Engineers professionals. Specifically, this person will have the opportunity to lead the design, development and rollout of change management learning, and other developmental initiatives for the Accertify business unit.
The incumbent will work closely with senior leaders and with other team members to gather and understand needs, and partner with subject matter experts and vendors. This individual will develop and deploy programs that enable the sales professionals to deliver a superior merchant experience and ultimately meet their sales targets. The role will also be a key administrator for our Learning Management System (LMS) related to Accertify activities.
Instructional design methodology should include various advanced mediums such as video, podcast, mobile e-learning applications design, gaming solutions, social media collaboration, and should bring new innovations to the design team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough training needs assessment with key internal stakeholders.
Define sales effectiveness strategy in conjunction with the Merchant Acquisition organization and manage overall calendar of initiatives for that organization.
Design and deliver selected training and learning intervention programs in-house and/or manage external training companies; Training and learning programs will be focused on selling skills, our offering vs. our competitors, relationship management, financial acumen, negotiations, navigating resistance and understanding of American Express (AXP) products and tools.
Manage and grow relationships with sales leaders and serve as point of contact and as a strategic sales effectiveness and training consultant for Accertify.
Drive additional initiatives related to specific business initiatives impacting the regions. Supporting other training platforms or reinforcement initiatives such as consultative selling skills or leadership effectiveness.
Leverage Human Resources, Sales Excellence, Industry Development & Field Effectiveness (IDFE) and other teams as needed to develop the most effective programs.
Leverage various training channels and technologies to deliver a variety of solutions including face to face training, teleconference training, and self-directed training.
Work with other Global Sales Training and Effectiveness team members to ensure standardization and compliance with the global sales curriculum.
Measure impact and effectiveness of programs and align metrics to business objectives.
## Qualifications
5
years of related instructional design, learning and development experience. Diverse work experiences including small and large employer work environments essential.
BS or BA degree required
Strong business acumen; Knowledge of sales and marketing processes.
Knowledge and experience in applying adult learning principles.
Experience designing multi-lingual content for global audiences. Candidate must have previous experience with global Subject Matter Experts (SME's), stakeholders, and learners.
Experience in designing courses, modules and workshops that incorporate adult education principles and experiential learning techniques; actively collaborating and contributing to effective teamwork as part of a global training team.
Proficient using instructional design tools - Adobe eLearning Suite and Master Collection, Camtasia, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, Premier Pro, and Articulate Storyline.
Proficient working knowledge with most Learning Management Systems (LMS's) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS's).
Strong analytic skills
Facilitation of training programs - both in person and virtual instructor-led training
Using innovative training delivery mechanisms, leveraging technology and other training mediums
Relationship building and cross-functional team work
Strong communication and influence skills
Exceptional project management and organizational skills
Entrepreneurial spirit, be a self-starter
Desirable:
Master's degree
Spanish speaking
